I was in unions when in the work force. Every single time we would get a raise, the prices would go up on everything in our area. And once they go up, they never come back down. The cost of living has raised continually while I have been alive. Soon, a days wage for a loaf of bread.
I am a retired white collar union member from NY. Most union members are not militant lunatics trying to squeeze the bajesus out of employers. For young families, a good union affiliation is one of the best opportunities he or she will have to prepare for retirement.
They want all the benefits of a union but not the empathy and social responsibility that unions create. Voting republican gives them a foot in both worlds
