They also have to follow federal law. The AG can make the case that the current federal administrative interpretation isn't in line with federal law, but I'm not sure why UM should be forced to adjudicate the supremacy clause rather than the AG under threat of state penalty

Who cares about his prior attitude? As Eric wrote back in 2016, "Piazza is arguably the greatest hitter in franchise history." Mend the fences, retire his number, and move on. They did it with Fernando, they can hopefully do it with Piazza.
bpross83.bsky.social (@bpross83.bsky.social) reply parent
If the Dodgers can retire Fernando's number, I'll hold out hope they can reach an accord with Piazza. But in terms of Dodgers' history, in my opinion, Piazza would have to come first. It's not his fault he was traded, and it's not his fault he never got an at bat in the World Series for LA.
bpross83.bsky.social (@bpross83.bsky.social) reply parent
Piazza had 31 war before he was traded away in year 6. Freddie is at 20 war in year 4 of his 6 year deal. Neither one will wear a Dodgers cap in the HOF. And now we understand that we shouldn't hold team success against one player. Very clearly the home run - but 23 isn't retired either. Just my 2¢
