That’s a great set!
Just saw him on an old episode of Top Chef and totally want to try his food (a little tricky from San Diego).
My husband asked me the other day what my desired range would be. I think my answer was 500 miles. I’m gonna have to pee before that anyway. He already has an F-150 Lightning and loves it. We did a San Diego to Monterey road trip a couple years ago and it required planning but was pretty smooth.
That sounds utterly divine.
Our older dog’s favorite place to be is In the Way. The kitchen is the only room we actually shoo them out of, as tripping and flames and knives aren’t a great combo.
This was such an admirable dad joke I liked it on two different platforms.
Randomly, I read this as 8 vaccinations in 7 months and I got super confused.
World Central Kitchen is amazing.

Since relocating to SoCal it’s been tough to find truly satisfying pizza.
I love Lou’s crust. Although given a choice of Chicago styles of pizza, my heart is with the thin crust cut in squares.

As a former resident of Illinois (pre-JB, during various felon governor eras 🙄) and a current resident of California, I am so much more impressed with how Pritzker has been walking the walk than with Gov. Temu Patrick Bateman.

She was so great in Broadchurch, and we just haven’t made it all the way through her episodes yet because they just aren’t very compelling stories.
Looking at our DVD shelves I guess we haven’t gotten the Whitaker one yet. Oops.
Over the years we have purchased various Doctor-specific DVD collection sets. There’s one for Eccleston/Tennant, one for Smith, one for Capaldi, and one for Whitaker. About $19-$22 per collection on Amazon. No longer beholden to the whims of streamers.

The best thing about getting laid off in April was that it motivated me to get my library card at the San Diego Public Library, and subsequently at the San Diego County Library as well. I am working again but still loving the libraries! #booksky

I still don’t plan to support him in a dem primary but I can appreciate that he’s at least doing something when so many aren’t. He’s done so many other infuriating, disappointing things over the years though.
We went on an overcast Friday afternoon in late spring and were able to just walk into the panda exhibit. It’s not something I’d be willing to wait hours to see.
Haven’t bought anything there since prior to the inauguration. It hasn’t even been difficult. The “hardest” thing to alternate source was refills for our shower cleaning spray and a quick Google search turned up a relatively local hardware store.
I was a big fan back in his Everwood days, but good grief he continues to solidify himself as the Worst Chris.

Look, if Newsom ends up winning the Dem primary, I will of course vote for him over whatever GOP nutbag is on the ballot. But I truly do not expect to support him in the primary, although obviously I can’t make a decision until I see who all is running.
As a California voter, I supported him for governor, but there have been so many self-owns. French Laundry, that stupid podcast. Am I enjoying the trolling all caps posts? Sure. Will I support him in a Dem primary for POTUS? Nope.
It’s already hot garbage and this will be even worse. My husband already cancelled our Office 365 subscription and got a static version of Office just to get away from the AI nonsense that we didn’t ask for and don’t want.

I donated to KPBS San Diego and my husband donated to a different SoCal one but we activated the Passport account under my KPBS one since that’s where we actually live. Obviously multiple donation streams is a privilege but we were glad to be able to do it.
Oh man I loved these. As someone else mentioned, the bacon cheddar ones were amazing.
My dad worked for both Mercury and Outboard Marine (he’s now retired)…he has literally gotten in other people’s vehicles to launch their boats when they couldn’t manage it themselves.

My husband and I were fascinated by our visit there in late March.
I unapologetically adore Xanadu because I was 3 in 1980 and Olivia Newton-John and Gene freaking Kelly dancing and on roller skates was pure, well, magic to me. Objectively I know it’s not actually GOOD but I do not care. And the soundtrack is absolutely top notch.
I learned how to knit in late 2010. In these past almost 15 years, I have steadfastly refused to try magic loop. Today, out of necessity (i.e., I didn’t have the correct size DPNs), I gave it a shot. It turned out fine, but I don’t know that I would do it for a full pair of socks. #knitting #knitsky

It’s my favorite of the Disney era Star Wars movies. Seeing it in the theater shortly after the passing of Carrie Fisher broke me. Still need to watch Andor.

This was my stance on a Kickstarter I backed, for which an option was given to withdraw due to an irredeemable bag of farts scenario. There were so many other people that were doing tremendous work that I stayed in, even if the fart bag’s name will still appear, but he won’t benefit financially.

I’ve never used an LLM and I love an em dash. The idea that they aren’t a breeze to make in Word is…weird.
I was on yearbook staff in high school. We wanted to use the Calvin & Hobbes characters on one of the section dividers, and wrote him for permission. He granted it with the stipulation that we use a full strip, not just the characters. It was pretty cool.
I did a baby blanket that turned out super cute. And was less bananas than that Star Wars scarf…
The very first double knitting project I did was enormous and insane. 😂 (See below) I’ve only done a couple, but I really enjoy the process. I kind of look at it as a cross between knitting and cross stitch with the way the counting/patterns work.

Hey @americanair.bsky.social , when I fly United or Alaska I can use iMessage for free to stay in communication while I’m in the air. But my only options to even be able to text on this flight were to pay $19 for a one hour wifi pass or $25 for the full flight. Those prices are absolute nonsense.

I started buying the Old Man’s War ebooks earlier this year, having never read the series. Got laid off in early April but was able to pick up Zoe’s Tale at my local library yesterday. Hoping my dad might give them a go as well.
