This is my record so far. 11 years.
Caroline Dodds Pennock (@carolinepennock.bsky.social) reply parent
YES. I'm frustrated by that, so I spend ages looking at the Mac Mini and thinking about displays and webcams. And in the end I caved and bought the 24 inch because it was all just so much easier. (Also frustrated to have a replace a functioning iMac because the software is unsupported.)

YES. It's very annoying to have to replace it when it does function perfectly well otherwise! I'm going to wipe it and see if perhaps someone locally (a teenager maybe?) might like it. Mac think it's only worth recycling.
Caroline Dodds Pennock (@carolinepennock.bsky.social)
With my 11-year-old iMac having reached the point where the OS refuses to even open Adobe Acrobat, I have finally caved and ordered a SHINY SHINY (blue) new one. (I do not wish to hear about alternatives. I am aware. I have made an informed decision. Celebratory responses only please.)

Too many âstrikingsâ, but I was very struck ;-)
Caroline Dodds Pennock (@carolinepennock.bsky.social) reply parent
Iâm obviously well used to seeing these sorts of issues, especially with the BM (with their history of refusing even to repatriate human remains) but so many sacred and stolen objects (eg the first depiction of a human Buddha) was striking enough that even my elderly in-laws commented.
Caroline Dodds Pennock (@carolinepennock.bsky.social) reply parent
I donât disagree. But this was particularly striking, given the proportion of the objects stolen during empire. And they had really quite a lot of text to play with: long captions for each object, plus discursive sections. Given they mentioned the colonial archaeology, I still think it striking.
Caroline Dodds Pennock (@carolinepennock.bsky.social) reply parent
It provides the information, but no reflection I could find in the exhibition. For me, the irony lies in the juxtaposition of the quote with the BMâs refusal to reflect/repatriate.
Caroline Dodds Pennock (@carolinepennock.bsky.social)
A gobsmacking amount of stolen Indian treasures in the stunning Ancient India exhibit at the British Museum. Many have a caption saying effectively âstolen by the East India Company and transferred to the BM when their museum closed downâ. And yet they feature this quote without ironyâŠ
