A shocking number of people on this app really think their local police are going to be allies against ICE. As if ICE isn't actively working with the local and state polices to facilitate their kidnappings. No cop is going to save you. We keep us safe. #FuckThePolice #FuckICE

They won't show up is the best case scenario. The worst is that the local PD start hassling YOU for "interfering" with federal agents. Even if you are objectively in the right, that won't stop cops from harassing you, like they did (and are still doing) to the Uvalde parents who acted to save kids.

The woman in the video did the right thing. Absolutely intervene, video record, make it as arduous as possible for ICE to kidnap people. Calling the police is functionally meaningless. You may create a small record that may never get looked at, but that's best case. Worse case is you are harassed 1/
It might create a record of one incident to do that, but unfortunately these ghouls are operating with the support of local law enforcement more often than not (and the explicit support of many local officers because pigs are pigs). So at best, nothing is likely to happen.

Nancy Mace is a literal congresswoman. She has plenty of power and agency. And instead of just leaving her trans colleague alone, Mace decided to bully her publicly and try to make her life worse. She had plenty of choice.
I was just thinking how Nancy Mace is like the perfect example of a white woman who is oppressed by patriarchy and copes with that powerlessness by bullying everyone she sees as "beneath" her. It's not an uncommon thing and some people need to realize that.
