Something I probably did not emphasize enough in this article is that nearly all of the R&D that made the CURRENT Doppler radar network what it is today was done by NSSL over the last 60 yrs. If OMB's plan to eliminate OAR goes forward, wx radar R&D - PAR or otherwise - will be seriously damaged.

Yup. Already had them decline to help with serology testing for a patient with an unusual infection. We were ultimately not able to confirm a suspected diagnosis, and had to wing it. Not good.
