Worked out really well for Adam Wainright, as Carlos Beltran can tell ya… I have no issues with this. A number of young pitchers have been converted to bullpen early. I don’t think the Mets feel they need another starter now, but with Helsley yet to figure it out, Sproat may well have use there.
As noted to others, I saw his last start in Syracuse (working him out of the bullpen lately, presumably thinking about that role for him with the big club). He was *filthy* and had control of all his pitches.
