They are literally everywhere, plus the massive solar arrays there. Would I rather see a wind turbine or a filthy coal/oil power station belching smoke and filthy particles into the air? I think we know the answer to that one. Driving past in my electric car also gives me a buzz. It's the future.
I do too. I have an 18 turbine array about 3 km from my main house in France and I also love them. I walk and cycle passed them daily and they always remind me of those glorious machines from war of the worlds. The swoosh of the blades is quite mesmeric. Also travelling to my house in Spain 1/2

I agree, with Ubuntu I follow the six month updates and that can be time consuming if it breaks one of my apps. I always recommend the LTS versions for new starters, keep it stable and usable, they aren't going to need all the latest kernel updates or app versions to start.

I switched to using XFCE and Openbox on the desktop, so to be honest I could now use any distro. I have been looking at others but at this moment I'm too busy to swap, but I may well give CatchyOS a spin on one of my laptops to see how it goes. Once you use the CLI, any of them will do a fine job.
I used Fedora for years, until I had a massive problem with an upgrade between version 8 & 9 which caused me to look around. I had used Debian for years, so Ubuntu was a simple swap. No OS is perfect - but it does eveything I need on my desktop and servers and I don't use the default desktop 1/2
Another great user journey of someone adopting Linux to replace Windows on a 2021 Dell Laptop. I think I would still recommend Linux Mint or Ubuntu Linux to start, but once you have installed and spent time with it - there are lots of others to play with. youtu.be/MVM3sRD9q8M?...
