I think I have mostly figured out how to translate my study ethic into work and my manager(s) are liking the questions I ask them. Eg: what kind of work is meeting expectations, and THEN what kind of work is exceeding expectations. Having it in concrete form lets me just aim to exceed.
It’s in my todo! My thinking is to wait for some more paychecks first to setup a buffer in my bank accounts and then I’ll look into the savings account.

Over here they have a lot of benefits if you are a parent as well (daycare can cost as little as 160-200 USD / month vs 1k USD / month in Maine). But day to day purchases are cheaper in Maine (15% in Montreal vs 5.5% in Maine).
The utilities + internet bills on top of it makes me want to go live in a cabin. But I’d die because I am spoilt by city life 😆. Thank god I am earning tho, bank number go up makes me feel good
For income tax alone, Montreal is worse. But overall, assuming you are earning 75k CAD equivalent, Maine is worse because of healthcare costs.
