The other side of this is that we have a government, HHS, and heads of HHS and CMS that don't believe in science. And they'll just start denying everything that has good scientific backing. The slippery slope did not just happen in Medicare. It started at the 2024 election.
The slippery slope here is not a burdensome practice--it's actually that more procedures will be pursued by physicians to make up for lost revenue on procedures being denied.
I know this is likely to be an unpopular opinion. But one of the best features of Medicare Part B is that we know what's covered and what's not covered. There are plenty of things that Part B doesn't cover which should be--wide vaccine choices, certain lab tests, etc. That's understood.
But Medicare Part B would be better off simply denying these treatments, and allow patients to choose to pay on their own if they felt it would benefit them. The cost of such procedures would decrease (market economics) and administrative burden would be less.

I have had Novavax personally, and my whole family (and a bunch of patients). I can attest to our personal experiences--no side effects other than local soreness. I have been exposed inadvertently at close proximity to many Covid+ patients, and I did not contract it. Your results may vary.
I can preorder Moderna and Pfizer. I cannot preorder Novavax, and that's the one I intend to stock.
