There was a bushel basket of new crop MacIntosh apples at the market today and I bought a few. They are crisp, juicy, and tangy — ideal for eating for a very short time because they don’t store well and quickly turn soft and mealy.

The #tariffs ruling plus the fight with #LisaCook at the Federal Reserve weaken the Republican's position. Their most faithful won’t blink, but it will give plenty of voters pause. Both represent important aspects of their economic plan. It's a relief to see public discontent growing.

Here is my main opinion on AI, in every capacity: What is the point of technology? Is it to make our lives better and easier, or is it to make a very small percentage of people richer? The latter is what AI is doing. The people actually doing the coding are making themselves redundant.

A friend with two teens sent me a text that she just spent $325 on groceries for a family of four. The only meat she bought was chicken at 40 percent off. She is a chef and cooks home meals. Have we had a drop since the pandemic? What are the five year figures? How do they compare with profit?
@dreid63 (@dreid63.bsky.social)
I want a grocery/food tariff expert (not the populist east coast academic on the corporate payroll) to do a comparison shop of Canadian grocers—Loblaws, Wallmart, CostCo, Sobeys—and show what price increases are justified and where there’s price gouging for shareholder profit. Seeing is believing.

Tech companies are accustomed to launching products in the draft phase and using the public (our children) as test subjects. They do it because the field is unregulated—we sign off on the fine print without considering the consequences.
