It is. The downside is that it is also often the laggiest. Most of the top-tier raiders and PvMPers went there. If you were on Laurelin for the RP stuff, tho, most of those folks went to Meriadoc, which has a healthy population as well.
Should be pretty soon. They're very much aware there are folks coming back whose chars are stranded (for both LotRO and DDO). You can at least try to grab your names on the new servers while you wait, just in case. I can give advice on which world is which. EU or NA?
It doesn't delete from the original world, it copies. So if you want to copy all your wardrobe to each of the 3 servers in your region, do the first shared storage transfer to the main world you'll pick for your chars, then do a second and third shared storage transfer to the other two.
All of your character's stuff (including vault) will come with you when you transfer. You have to select 'shared storage' to bring your shared storage and wardrobe across separately. However, this is the same as transfers have worked in the past, so nothing really scary. Wardrobe is actually cool.
As for 'why didn't they email?' They're not allowed to due to various privacy laws worldwide (primarily in the EU) that require people to opt-in. Given they could get fined like $5,000 per email, yikes. They did what they could through their social media, forums, and Discord.
The going theory based on what Cord said is that it'll be 'days rather than weeks', so maybe later this week or sometime next week? I believe they're shipping the hardware from NJ to NV and then need to get it installed in the new datacenter, etc. Could be wrong, tho.

The Expedition that starts soon should help with some of this. They're pretty good with helping teach new mechanics and giving people a leg up on getting the new toys. 'course, day one of the new goodies, someone brought a phallic-shaped ship to a big streamer's in-game meetup.

I'm not claiming that at all. I'm saying in this specific circumstance, if Blizz saying 'A can't go there cos they act like they own the joint', that's penalizing the *players* for something NPCs are doing. Just like A players worked their asses off in Legion for NB and NB went Horde in a cutscene.
Other players will react as if mine were the shitty guests, tho. Unfortunate that PCs get penalized for the behavior of NPCs.
Not sure I like that whole 'act like they own the city' thing. My Alliance chars know how to act like a gracious guest. It smacks of yet another stealing of agency away from Alliance players in order to serve a plot point, just like in Legion with the Nightborne going Horde.
Got a new drive that's bigger than the old one, but that doesn't help recover data from the old one. This one feels like it has mechanically failed, like the magnets are out of alignment or something.
Well, today is the perfect day for my primary streaming hard drive to fail.

It would make sense that if one side gets another race/class combo for an allied race, then to keep the balance, the other side's new race/class combo should also be on an allied race. I easily see Thalryssa sending Nightborne druids to help heal the Dark Scar, even if Lor'themar doesn't ask her.
Totally agreed all around. I appreciate them wanting to spread the wealth and let a number of content creators get interviews, but everyone's just letting Wowhead do all the work in collecting this stuff to look at later cos it's so dang hard to find everything oneself.

Technically, I did make it across the gap, which I believe unlocked the solido base tool and the vehicle tool, but the worm got me before I could get to solid ground. I spun the camera around when I realized I wouldn't make it so I could watch it overtake me like a freight train. :D

Yeah, that's the thing. No one can say *for sure* that equipped items count as 'backpack' and will be preserved. I got my base and vehicle storage tools, so I don't want to lose my new shiny sandbike or the base.
Anyone playing the Dune Awakening free trial, or @duneawakening.com themselves know... do equipped items have to be in the backpack too, or will they transfer safely to the regular game while still equipped when the free trial is over?
