Agreed. It's honestly bothering me a bit. I like Armand but that post is just so weak. I get it. It sucks to get pushback from your team, it truly does, but come on. Have some perspective here.
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm going to strongly disagree here. Jain, Armand, etc. would all back Democrat that wanted to enact many progressive policies. They are absolutely on team Democrat and at least partially on team leftist for various policies.
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
If people shouldn't take advice from Twitter either, then what exactly is your argument? Dems should not take advice from both Twitter and Bluesky? If so, then what's the actual issue with Bluesky?
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
I like Armand and Jain but this is just so weak Bluesky leftists are snowflakes but you're willing and fine to get called actual slurs and withstand the hate on Twitter as long as they are from the Right? I get it. It sucks to get pushback from your team, but come on. Have some perspective here.

What's weird is, they acknowledge that Nazis are mean to them. They just care less about the Nazis calling them slurs than they do about the left being making fun of them. I get it. I do. It sucks to feel like your team doesn't like you...but come on. Have some perspective

And less generously, they just like the shit storm that is Twitter. They like the drama, the fights, the memes, etc, but they don't want to admit it. Twitter is fun junk food and they don't think Blue sky has that juice. Maybe that's a good thing? Maybe not.
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, they probably underestimate how much work they've put into cultivating their feed already there. Also weird because they'll talk about it being unwelcoming here, while at the same time saying that those on the left are too soft for not being able to withstand the environment of Twitter.
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
The welcoming thing seems like the wrong reason why some people stay on twitter. I would not describe Twitter as welcoming and I don't understand how someone could ( audience capture I guess) Outside from people already being established on twitter, it just has more drama that people seem to want.
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
I should probably clarify that I don't necessarily think this person didn't see their bill increase. I just don't think it's due to their electricity costs ($/kwhr) more than doubling and there's probably more to the story than this.
Emblem boy (@emblemboy.bsky.social) reply parent
Neither? Like, I'm not even disagreeing about the energy usage of data centers and stuff. I'm mainly saying that I find this particular story hard to believe. I can dislike data centers without believing that the electricity company more than doubled someone's electricity rate 🤷🏿♂️

I agree. I want public transportation to become better and bigger and at some level it feels like you need to treat it as a real service, one that attracts the middle class. That means being exclusionary in some way, and fare collection seems a not horrible way to achieve that.
