I'm going to strongly disagree here. Jain, Armand, etc. would all back Democrat that wanted to enact many progressive policies. They are absolutely on team Democrat and at least partially on team leftist for various policies.

The welcoming thing seems like the wrong reason why some people stay on twitter. I would not describe Twitter as welcoming and I don't understand how someone could ( audience capture I guess) Outside from people already being established on twitter, it just has more drama that people seem to want.
I should probably clarify that I don't necessarily think this person didn't see their bill increase. I just don't think it's due to their electricity costs ($/kwhr) more than doubling and there's probably more to the story than this.

I would think so. The positive material benefits needs to be there so people have an excuse to vote for the non bigotry option. They need to be able to tell themselves that they aren't bigots and they're actually voting for "cheaper groceries"

Property are the most straightforwardly reasonable taxes that exist. I didn't make this land, but it's mine. I pay the government to enforce my monopoly on the property. They could only be improved by shifting more of the tax to the value of the unimproved land rather than the structures (land tax)

We need to extend the same “politically correct” taboos against talking shit about minorities to talking about white men/women. It's politically advantageous and it's the nice thing to do. If you take seriously the idea that people are emotional, we should not be mean to their particular class
Essentially, if you take seriously the premise that people are racist, it leads that you should try as hard as you can to not make race salient when it comes to trying to obtain progressive policy and social agendas.

As someone who is very pro building things, especially in Tucson where we need more industries, I don't know what to think about project blue. I think people overstated the water usage concern. It would have used about 5-6% of Tucson's annual reclaimed water usage.

I agree. I want public transportation to become better and bigger and at some level it feels like you need to treat it as a real service, one that attracts the middle class. That means being exclusionary in some way, and fare collection seems a not horrible way to achieve that.

I don't see flying other countries flag as a slight against the US. Especially since a large part of being American is having a large diversity in regards to country of origin. I do not see other nations flags within America as being anti American. If anything I see it as part of being pro American
