And AI has ALREADY displaced probably tens of thousands of jobs like legal research and basic brief writing, computer coding and other such jobs. And in a short time. This is only the beginning. This is not necessarily a bad thing in the long run. Like the introduction of power looms in 1810 etc.

As you know any real expert realizes that AI, like every previous new technology with broad uses, will mean displacing tons of employees across the economy, particularly white collar jobs. This raises the productivity of the economy and eventually things adjust with new jobs, but the speed can hurt.

Almost all elections in the US are now done using scanned PAPER ballots which are kept in secure bins for any manual recount. Since a ballot may have dozens of offices plus propositions etc. counting them manually would take weeks and is inherently far more innaccurate and open to cheating.
