Actually, just asked my wife, Trixie died mid-2018 and was probably 14. She came from the RSPCA so her date of birth was unclear.

I’m glad. Our dog Trixie herniated discs in her back in 2010 and the young vets at the clinic we use were hung ho about surgery. We balked because she was already ten-ish. Ended up caging her for six weeks and she came good. Lived another 9 years.
