Died on a Caves of Qud daily at level 37. Decided to lure in an enemy 12 tiles away and set a hand-e-nuke to explode 12 turns ahead. Ran away from it just realize it moves way slower than 1 tile a turn, so I WENT BACK TO LURE IT IN and blew myself up like Wile E Coyote.
Color adjusted darkened back behind the text, 30-40% opacity, fade the edges. You just need to make the teeth less prominent because they blend into the black and white text over it
My only gripe with this card is the colors on the sword should be flipped

There is no data to suggest a significant portion of CR fans watch it because 5e is such a great system and not the actors on screen. 5e is good at pulling in people who don't know you, CR doesn't need that pull because they are the brand. Not using your name to push the system is just bad business.
These things already facilitate eachother, if you are ever to try a new system then making a new world and story that would better fit that system's playstyle is a no brainer. I get not wanting to risk their business on a new system but they are tanking their new business because it IS the system.

I feel like even if you use the wrong word here the other person would intuitively translate it to what you meant in their head.
Something about Caves of Qud that I think about often is how beautifully counter-intuitive it is to make some areas and enemies so manacing that you need to just avoid at all costs even if you are massively over-leveled. You can be a demigod and still die instantly to one perticular slime in 2 hits.
My instinct tells me urberry, but the huge amounts of wine compared to how rare the berry is leave me wondering. Possible that urberries have been over-harvasted to make all that wine and it's just been fermenting for a really long time.

I tend to treat these sort of things like the parable of the blind men and the elephant. Anything that's even mildly complicated only makes sense if you understand how all of its parts work together, so you have to avoid the instinct of giving away what a part is there for, even if it seems obvious.
I think it's an excellent device for putting you eons away from the culture you know in the real world and is long forgotten for the people in the game. How easily do you think you could identify the function of a toilet seat cover completely out of context?

A really good Caves of Qud mechanic that you can slot right into your TTRPG playgroup is examining unidentified objects. First, Describe purely what the item looks like, under the assumption that it has no practical use, just visual details. Then describe its function based on a player's die roll.

The water accumulates silica, magnesium and calium over time, making it too conductive to reuse endlessly for discharge purposes. Eventually you have to use new water
The bacteria isnt the problem with circulating, its the specific minerals the water is exposed to. That said, if the method is evaporative the details of discharge and recirculation don't really matter. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Cards like this really make you appreciate Magic's core design. You would be hard pressed to find another card game that allows such a simple yet absurd effect to not only exist but be properly balanced.
