There's so bullish about the results of the midterms that they're trying to steel seats in Texas. Nothing says bullish of election results like gerrymandering.
He probably knows there's no getting around the two term limit, so his only chance of remaining POTUS indefinitely is to prolong his second term beyond the constitutional limit.
Some see this and think 'the good old days'.
Perhaps all he needs is an excuse to declare the US is at 'war' and, therefore, elections are suspended.
