It's the Telegraph. We know this is correct?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
I was persuaded years ago by an article by David Aaronovitch. He argued that a card was irrefutable proof of belonging - how could Reform target minorities when they're card carrying British citizens the same as everyone else?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It feels like they are closing their eyes, holding their nose, and collaborating with fascism. There is a direct line between propping up X and nazi thugs on the streets of England.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
LBC comfortable peddling lies and unfounded personal attacks on a female MP. Bravo!
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It doesn't matter. They won't be held to account. The Press aren't interested. Like the US, our democracy relies on 'norms'. When we elect a limited company run by dark monied interests and think tanks the whole structure will be subverted. And the Press will forever normalise it.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
The purpose of one is to further the aims of global fascism by offering people an engaged audience in return for their participation.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It's highly complex. For me moving here out of disgust for X and its fascist aims was easier than most. Would I have talked myself around if I needed the follower base? A matter of conscience. I do know it is impossible to positively influence the swill on X - it is beyond any rationality.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Feels like an air of cynicism. People moved here because they wanted a space that wasn't directly enabling fascism. Unfortunately for them, the vast majority didn't want to risk their perceived audience and were prepared to continue to support Musk's aims in order to hold onto it.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Given that most people moved here because they could not stomach directly contributing to a fascist enterprise, it's hardly surprising they feel censorious.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social)
What really annoys me about the self righteous left is that they despise and decry the Press for lies and propaganda - but are happy to jump on the same bandwagon if the lies and twisting are aimed at the Labour Party and individual MPs.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
MP buys a flat at the seaside. Shenanigans? You saying that Labour MPs should not be allowed to buy property?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It also helps if people on the left who post their views find out and represent the facts rather than swallowing the lies.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
If it hasn't been said not sure how I could be aware of it? They cannot win. The Press and social media are a shitstorm of lies and propaganda. That's the problem - including that many of those on the left want to believe it too.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
No it's not. It's when you're doing 28 mph. Rayner doesn't own her house. The flat is her only owned property and so declared without dodging anything. The council tax rules for declaring a second home do not refer to ownership and are different. But you've swallowed the lies like the rest of them.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It is being used as a weapon - as a type of swastika.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Go see your doctor immediately. Never seen a rash like that before.

Ban them from car parks with painted parking bays.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
This thread started as criticism of Labour for trying to make Brexit work and how bad this was for the country. Now we all agree it's right to do this it appears the attack is now the direct opposite - they're not doing brexit well enough?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
If you're running the country you are running Brexit Britain. Reality. And if you don't try and make that work as well as possible then you are making people pay for your empty posturing.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It also proof that they will never come under any meaningful scrutiny by the Press.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Rejoining is a pipe dream right now. Failing to acknowledge that and berating a government for making things better in the meantime is deluded. I've yet to hear how an 'instant rejoin' would work either practically or politically.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
And the Press should not be interviewing 10 year old survivors.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
I can't agree with the conflation of asylum seeker and migrant or immigrant. They are different channels, needs and processes.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social)
So the US Press thinks it acceptable to conduct an extensive interview with a 10 year old who's just survived a massl shooting. And the UK Press are happy the show the footage. How insanely fucked up has it all become.?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
This is what a country in thrall to a lunatic looks like.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
You're so right to highlight Rod Liddle. He's so typical of so many men. You need to protect your children. As he says himself “the one thing stopping me from being a teacher was that I could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids.”
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Over 66% of arrests of the mobs at Bristol asylum hostels were of known wife beaters - no wonder you're afraid.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
In the end, the best desperate lie he could come up with was "there was a camera".
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
He'd see this as a compliment. He's as insane as them both. And the US is in his thrall.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Time to break out the fish fingers.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
They knew. It was factored in. They voted for him anyway.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
There's lots of reasons people might to have to live in fear Gavin. This you he's talking about? Or should I accept that not every white British person goes around pissing in other people's gardens?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
There was nothing special or political about this. Just some lads brought up with decent values calling out bad people doing bad things.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social)
Sky News - 'Why are Reform leading the immigration discussion?". Sky News five minutes later - "Nigel Farage will be making a speech at 1030, we will be covering it live".

It's a deliberate tactic. Bomb a hospital, wait for the rescuers to get to the scene, and then bomb the same target again. Depraved.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
They might as well be hoisting and painting swastikas - they are intended to carry the same message.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
It isn't normal for a country to have a totally insane Head of State.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
The insane ramblings of an insane mind. How anyone in the US engages with this in any way is beyond comprehension. He's insane - why don't you all get it?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
You have an insane Head of State. Totally off the deep end insane.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Even when the anti-racist counter demos are even larger.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Every aspect of this event was insane. Absolutely, totally, irrefutable insane. And the Press just rolled with it.

Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Was it an Iron Cross?
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Authentically insane.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
And then BBC Radio refers to them as migrants and not as asylum seekers and we complete the loop to conflate everyone coming here for any reason with the word illegal.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Yet more 'Christians' living in a world without Christ.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social)
Let me get this straight. The morons complaining that asylum seekers are in 4 star hotels are objecting in court that they are no longer hotels but are now hostels and so are in breach of planning rules. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

He is clearly insane. That rant prompted by the mail-in voting question was highest grade batshit. And the Press just pretend it didn't happen.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social)
Watching Trump rant at great length about mail-in voting and then rambling into random attacks on the democrats- whist Zelensky has to sit there. He is insane. Ga-ga. Loopy. Round the bend. Doolally. And the world just carries on regardless.

As about a useful comment as saying if only Brown hadn't sold the gold, or if only we hadn't had austerity. It's magical thinking that we could or could have stitched it all back together again without everything turning into another binfire.

Moved from X when it became clear that rationality, evidence and facts were irrelevant to the discourse on that site. Show someone evidence to refute their anger and they twist into rabbit holes of whataboutery. There is no hope. People will hate because that's who they are.

Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
This is the biggest danger. Sky, BBC and the rest of the media continually frame racist riots as 'legitimate concerns'. Yesterday Sky went further and excused the thugs because of 'political failure' around immigration.

There was a schools 'gifted and talented' scheme that connected all schools with universities - so kids from every school would not think certain universities and courses were not for them. I saw it starting to work with my daughters - but it was scrapped by Cameron and Liberal Democrat coalition.

Trump has shown how weak 'convention' is. It's convention that our executive is made up of elected MPs and Lords. Reform will tear this up - government directly by think tank funders, oligarchs and proxies for foreign and corporate interests.

They ran his comments about lawless Britain without comment as a main headline on #radio4 last night. The BBC are framing the news cycle around 'Nigel Farage says' as a matter of policy.
Garry Stone (@garrystone.bsky.social) reply parent
Radio 4 news running the Farage recording through its main headline - then exploring Tice's views about electricity pricing during the main segment. Has to be a deliberate editorial policy, has to be.
