I was persuaded years ago by an article by David Aaronovitch. He argued that a card was irrefutable proof of belonging - how could Reform target minorities when they're card carrying British citizens the same as everyone else?
It feels like they are closing their eyes, holding their nose, and collaborating with fascism. There is a direct line between propping up X and nazi thugs on the streets of England.

It doesn't matter. They won't be held to account. The Press aren't interested. Like the US, our democracy relies on 'norms'. When we elect a limited company run by dark monied interests and think tanks the whole structure will be subverted. And the Press will forever normalise it.
The purpose of one is to further the aims of global fascism by offering people an engaged audience in return for their participation.
It's highly complex. For me moving here out of disgust for X and its fascist aims was easier than most. Would I have talked myself around if I needed the follower base? A matter of conscience. I do know it is impossible to positively influence the swill on X - it is beyond any rationality.
Feels like an air of cynicism. People moved here because they wanted a space that wasn't directly enabling fascism. Unfortunately for them, the vast majority didn't want to risk their perceived audience and were prepared to continue to support Musk's aims in order to hold onto it.
Given that most people moved here because they could not stomach directly contributing to a fascist enterprise, it's hardly surprising they feel censorious.
What really annoys me about the self righteous left is that they despise and decry the Press for lies and propaganda - but are happy to jump on the same bandwagon if the lies and twisting are aimed at the Labour Party and individual MPs.

It also helps if people on the left who post their views find out and represent the facts rather than swallowing the lies.

This thread started as criticism of Labour for trying to make Brexit work and how bad this was for the country. Now we all agree it's right to do this it appears the attack is now the direct opposite - they're not doing brexit well enough?
If you're running the country you are running Brexit Britain. Reality. And if you don't try and make that work as well as possible then you are making people pay for your empty posturing.

I can't agree with the conflation of asylum seeker and migrant or immigrant. They are different channels, needs and processes.
