It's suggesting that Dems shouldn't use specific words because they are overused by Dem candidates and alienating, so it seems pretty important to know how much candidates use them in official publications. Maybe they're alienating, but if Dems aren't using them anyway, the "advice" is unnecessary.
That's also bullshit. The Master's tools work equally well in others' hands. Tools are, for the most part, value-neutral.

The only question is how over-the-top Trump's eventual response will be. Will he issue a call for a MAGA insurrection in California? Send troops to shut down all UC campuses? Station nuclear subs off the California coast? Tell Putin he's welcome to invade San Francisco?
This also has the effect of draining the award of any meaning for past and future recipients. It becomes a participation award granted at the whim of the President rather than an acknowledgment of achievement or significance.

What about this (based on something similar I've seen floating around): Tell your students explicitly to have an AI summarize the reading, then to read the text themselves and write a report on flaws or problems with the AI's summary - what did it miss, what did it make up, etc.

I also think it's hard to campaign on an anti-corruption reform platform, because everybody has different views of what "corruption" means, how far the term stretches. Taking bribes? Definitely. Doing something because it helps your biggest donors? Drawing the lines is difficult.
I think the slogan got in the way of any possibility of actual reform, largely *because* it was so easy for grifters and liars to say "We're going to drain the swamp" and get people to cheer for them. And it became associated with QAnon, so I would avoid it or similar sloganeering. /1
