*Increasing* the corp tax rate and banning share buy-backs is actually more likely to lead to higher wages. Corps will reduce their taxable income by increasing their expenses (eg R&D, employee comp).
This isn’t incentivizing corps to help those who need it. It’s govt assistance, indirectly, to people who aren’t being paid a living wage by corps who want the rich to get richer off the backs of people they freely admit need help, help they would give only if it would help them get richer.

Sounds like it is, or is related to, what has been a shocking, scary realization: that much of the systems and structures meant to ensure the functioning/continuation of our democracy depend simply on people doing the right thing, so when they choose not to, the whole thing crumbles.
