Again - the reason that the Good Friday Agreement locks in the ECHR is that the UK had repeatedly been held accountable by the European Court of Human Rights for human rights breaches during the Troubles - while national courts had failed to do so, even upholding miscarriages of justice

In the year to June 2025, 92% of refugee family reunion visas were given to women and children. More than half went to children. Two thirds to people from Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iran and Sudan. It helps integration and provides a safe route. Family reunion should be easier, not harder.

I suspect the church are finding it as difficult to counter the messaging of farage as other politicians. They might not need to be elected, but are fighting a rearguard action. At least there are fewer churches in the U.K. In the US there always seems to be one sect willing to endorse something.

Reform are closing adult education centres in Derbyshire and plan to sell off the buildings. The decision was made behind closed doors with no public allowed in the meeting and without a public consultation. Some of the centres have as much as 60% of students from the most deprived demographics.
