I wouldn’t have thought many Labour MPs came into politics to strip the rights of torture survivors to be reunited with the spouses & children. They need to take a long hard look in the mirror & ask whether Starmer, Cooper & Reeves are really the leadership their careers should be remembered with.
Where has this ludicrous ECHR "debate" even come from. I've never once met an ordinary member of the public who's said to me, "Do you know what? We REALLY need to leave the ECHR." It's just a new right wing talking point because every other shit idea they've foisted on us has run out of steam.

As an outsider American born in the UK, it seemed like Brexit was motivated by the same racism as MAGA, here in the States. The squealing of “get those [non-white] foreigners out” has deprived us all of economic stability, international peace, and closer friendships with our allies. And Putin rises.
Of course the Queen was Remain. You don’t sustain a hereditary monarchy by randomly pulling pins out of grenades for the lols at the urging of a cluster of snake oil chancers.

I suspect the church are finding it as difficult to counter the messaging of farage as other politicians. They might not need to be elected, but are fighting a rearguard action. At least there are fewer churches in the U.K. In the US there always seems to be one sect willing to endorse something.
The radical right in Britain increasingly claims to represent "Christian values" & "Christian civilisation" - though its leaders rarely go to church or pretend to believe anything. It's especially important that Christian leaders speak out against this, as it's their tradition that's being claimed.

“Legitimate concerns”, is going to be repeated so much he’ll be slurring it by tea time.
One of the worst aspects of this whole thing is that they see themselves as reasonable, common sense, “legitimate concerns”, people and they’re interviewed with no questioning for clicks when they should be left under no illusion that having a cardboard cut out of that grifter in your home is nuts.

Reform are closing adult education centres in Derbyshire and plan to sell off the buildings. The decision was made behind closed doors with no public allowed in the meeting and without a public consultation. Some of the centres have as much as 60% of students from the most deprived demographics.
