It kills me how often I have listen to people claim that Putin is a brilliant mastermind while watching some of the idiocy of Russian government’s policies. Tell me again how Putin showing up at the SCO is some major diplomatic feat while ignoring that Russia can’t grow enough potatoes 🙄

I could now go on about how it took 3.5 years to get here, and how much the previous German government, and partly this one, failed to realize this simple fact. But for now, let’s just be glad that the metaphorical floor of what must be done has finally been reached. 1/3

32 years ago today, the last Soviet troops left Lithuania, ending decades of occupation. With this final milestone, Lithuania restored complete control of independence, taken from us in 1940. Today, we mark the Day of Freedom. 🇱🇹

Sometimes, it's a good thing to remember that there are literal people who get paid good money (sometimes your tax money) to write posts that keep you distracted and enraged. Because when your attention is tied up, it's easier for others to get away with things.

That's it 🎯 Like, I don't want to be rude to someone's family but this sounds like they've somehow realized that things have gone wrong and instead of dealing with it, they're trying to push it down and ignore it.

We are worried how Tr*mp would respond. Ukraine doesn't need to be pressured to surrender again. Rewarding Russian aggression by salami slicing Ukraine means that we'll be at war within five years. Although, it looks like he's too weak to do even that now.

We are at the point where those who are deeply, rottenly, unashamedly racist feel able to express the most disgusting views and not be deeply challenged.

This would have been a beautiful map had it not depicted the scope of Russia's sabotage on European infrastructure 2018-2025. Take your time and decipher it. From this report: www.iiss.org/research-pap...

Sure would like it if everyone would just acknowledge already that Russia has been at war with us for some time now.

Make no mistake, everything that’s happening in the United States is being significantly enabled by the right wing oligarch capture of media. Every other country needs to do everything possible to keep that from happening where they are. Including protecting the CBC from Poilievre here in Canada.

a pretty good summary of the 21st century is that the humiliation of america's defeats in the middle east post-9/11 curdled into a reactionary politics that seeks affirmation in the humiliation of anyone who is an other: liberals, minorities, the global south, china, europe, whoever.
