I agree re: reasonable v. strict.
The worst part is, we all know this is preventable. Decades of politicians caring more about people being able to own guns than the safety of kids made it so anyone can go around doing this. We can look to any other country in the world and see the solution, our leaders just donโt have the will.
In Australia we had a mass shooting almost 30 years ago (Port Arthur). The Govt changed the gun laws and offered a buy back for all guns and 640,000 weapons were handed in. We have never had a mass school shooting in our history - our kids don't have "shotting drills". Sad day for you guys.

I read that Australia has some of the world's strictest gun laws. Kudos. Japan, New Zealand and a number of other countries have also tight restrictions. As a result, gun-related crime rates are low. The US, well the US is on another spectrum. Very very sad day.

You canโt indict a ham sandwich. Another remarkable failure by the US Attorneyโs Office in DC. This is the second time it has failed to bring an indictment in a felony assault case against a federal agent โ and itโs a sharp rebuke of Trumpโs move to militarize DC.
The mantra for this era is "fuck you, make me."
