This is quite remarkable and praiseworthy given that it happened in the early hours of a Sunday morning before a holiday.
I think it’s great to share processes for things like this. It helps other journalists avoid mistakes and builds trust in our work. I’ve tried to do this more recently with explanations in podcast episodes about how I conduct reporting

From what I’m told there have been some small rewilding attempts, but like the people of Myanmar until the revolution succeeds they can’t really be safe. They are vulnerable to being killed for their ivory, or standing on land mines, or being recaptured.
Elephants are a part of the conflict in Myanmar and suffer just like people. They’re especially vulnerable to the huge number of land mines that cover much of the country.
Unfortunately, although it’s very rare, there is a documented history of BP detaining people during fires. for example, this happened outside a shelter here in San Diego in 2007 when people accused of stealing supplies were detained by BP.
A quick reminder: trans women, and trans people in general, remain massively underrepresented among mass shooters specifically and members of the fascist right more generally

I understand these guys were contractors, but firefighters have powerful unions and it would be nice if they’d show up for these folks. Fwiw firefighters from all over the world, and especially Mx, have fought fires in the U.S. for as long as I I’ve been here. Mx sent people to LA, for example.

It looks like katabatic makes a bivvy from it, which is what I want. For fast packing I generally just use a bag liner and gatewood cape and no sleeping bag, but a good bivvy could extend the temp range a bit and potentially replace the poncho as well.
