The Star Wars show Andor had a segment where the Farmer waited until the crop was harvested. Then he called the Empire to pick up the workers because they were illegal. The farmer kept the workers money. That’s what some farmers used to do here, but the called La Migra.
Americans will not do back breaking work for little pay. House building, farm work, meat packing were union jobs. Now are done by immigrants because the business owners and farmers can pay them less. Yet the bosses are never arrested during the raids and charged for breaking the law.
