I will be leaving the country on vacation. I’m going to follow advice of lawyers and delete me social media apps from my phone. So going dark until Sept. 15 at least. If I’m not back by then, please start asking my husband, Sam @sam-is-me.bsky.social if I’m being detained.

The last US Civil War was between people who believed some people were not human, and could therefore be treated inhumanely, and those that believe all are created equal. This US Cold Civil War we are in now, is the similar. It's about inhumanity vs humanity.
We live under authoritarianism now. I don’t know anymore if it’s too late to change course, but we have to keep going on toward freedom because the alternative will be even worse. Send your representatives your thoughts about it all. They are there to represent you.

Truth rings true no matter the era. I’d hoped in my lifetime, we’d have evolved more and I hate that it’s our country from which fascism is rising again and making our world less safe. But it is here and we have to join the fight and be on the right side of history.

I’ve been worried about desensitization connected to how ICE is now operating. In Germany, they had to find new ways to do genocide because having soldiers commit murder was giving them nightmares. What if the soldiers now fantasize about murder?
If not, it was a white guy in mostly black with a tan tactical vest like they sometimes wear. He appeared to be alone which seemed unusual. We’re currently sitting on our steps to watch for any activity.

We have La Raza and the Chicano Movement which did social justice/civil rights work. The Left has visionaries with a clear picture of what we could have and the right is great at demonizing us as Communists. We simply need courage to keep building community with each other and know we can keep going

I’m for all guns must have liability insurance purchased as well as strong red flags laws. My heart is breaking. As a UNM alumna who as an RA in our dorms, I cannot imagine how devastating this is. I also work summer conferences in the dorms so I know how awful this is.
