The concept of constructive discourse is dead, and the idea that two people can disagree and coexist has become offensive. Now ignorance flourishes (on both “sides”), and when ignorance flourishes, freedom and innovation die. Eventually, society will ask why we have dictators in power and monopolies

One of the best things you can do as an author in the #amquerying trenches is to read your manuscript. Not just for the obvious reasons, but read it like a reader. Honestly ask: Do you like your book? I couldn't put mine down. I love my book. #writingcommunity

This was in my @LinkedIn feed today. Firstly, I’m Canadian, so no. Secondly, ICE is a dangerous organization driven by ignorance, hate, and fear, so heck no. Blocked and reported.
This is probably high in Canada and among the rest of the western world. I only wish the business ecosystem supported entrepreneurs more, with more grants or zero-interest seed loans. Startup capital is the biggest hurdle.

The biggest change I’ve noticed since coming back to Canada for a visit is how strong the anti-US sentiment has become. It’s everywhere, pervasive, and quote unlike the Canada I left. In every store I visit, Canadian products get highlighted while US ones go untouched. #elbowsup

“Problem solve, not panic. Respond, not react.” This has become my mantra as life throws up challenges. As a volunteer on a hospital ship in Madagascar, an #amquerying author, and father of teens, life throws a lot at me, especially this year. Repeating this keeps me grounded.
