Also: This is one of the ethical principles for the Public Relations Society of America. Healthy debate happens when we're up front about who we're representing. We sow distrust when people find out after the fact that someone was paid to share a POV that they presented as their own thinking.

This is counter to what Jesus said. He wasn't here to become a political leader or resist Rome. He intentionally did not defend himself and rebuked Peter when he drew his sword to defend Jesus. Christ had a different mission. WE should resist fascism, but Jesus died for another purpose.

Bill Clinton also knew policy. He could talk to people plainly because he understood the issues so well that he could think of analogies and clear ways of explaining. Some of the "plain talkers" now don't have the policy knowledge. They're confusing "straight talk" with "no substance." We need both.
