In honor of the upcoming Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection, I decided to make modernized wallpapers of all 5 arcade games. Due to image count limits I have to post the 5th wallpaper separately. See my previous post for the first 4.

I'm not sure if I'm relieved or disappointed that in this case, the excuse is true. They were linking those sections to info about court cases involving them and accidentally deleted an XML tag. It's good that they weren't actually trying to do that. But it also wouldn't surprise me if they were.

When a better, more ethical option comes along that provides equivalent or better results, features and privacy, then I'll happily switch. But for now, I don't have the luxury of sacrificing function for purity. After all, there's no ethical consumption under capitalism.

Most of the alternatives aren't great for privacy. DuckDuckGo isn't quite as good as I'd like it to be. The search results suck, and the browser still needs time to mature. The best search results still come from Google, but Brave is a close second, and its privacy is solid. (2/?)

I've been using Brave Browser and Brave Search for over a year now. Yeah it has an AI too, but it can be disabled, and Brave, much like DuckDuckGo, is privacy-centric. I've also been using Proton for my email, VPN, cloud storage etc. I use Linux whenever I can but I can't fully escape Windows yet.

Part of what makes art so meaningful is that a person honed their skills, and poured some element of themselves into the process of crafting their art. AI can sometimes create decent images but they lack humanity. Also classic artists were often judged by their ability to do hands. Just saying... 😏
Well I AM an artist, and most of us would never say/do that. Generative AI has some limited uses in the art creation process, but it should not be used to create whole artworks, because that undermines a significant aspect of artistry. (1/2)
