You might want to trim it back by at least half in spring. I had this monster cut down to 2-ft 1½ years ago when it got leggy and I think it will need it again next spring. That thing grows FAST.

Depends on if you want it done right. Ideally, it involves digging a trench at least 3x the height of the pavers, then putting down a layer of gravel topped with about 1-1.5" sand. Then lay the pavers. If you don't want to be doing this again that is.
