She plans to live with her maternal g'parents. Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras has a nursing program at several campuses; tuition is $360/yr (?!) and her GFM is at $39,000. Would be nice if someone could get her connected to continue her education there with little friction or time gap.

Yes. Since 2023, the Covid vaccine has been available in Mexican pharmacies instead of only through hospitals, private doctors, government agencies, etc. The article provides a list of names of the larger pharmacy chains. Access in Mexico is not new, but American need to travel for access is.

What's the general residential cost per kWh? In deregulated TX we sign up for contracts - I'm currently in year 1 of 3 for a contract to pay 0.152 per kWh for 500 kWh usage, or 0.148 for 1,000 plus a flat fee that's under $5. For example, if I use 300 kWh, it's $47.41; if I use 700, it's $104.78.

The CDC shows Texas with "Very High" COVlD transmission. I noted last week that many high-transmission TX sites were offline & the dip into "Moderate" territory was likely an aberration. Sadly, true. PMC estimates that 1 in 38 Texans are now actively infectious.

I don't think we'll have midterms. It'll be something like this: We can't have elections until we redo the Census. We can't do the Census sans undocumented people until they are all imprisoned. So, elections "on hold" instead of having another post-election attempted coup w/ wild-eyed MAGA rioting.

In Houston, water has become very expensive because of the way the state is addressing subsidence. My water authority is building a 55-mile, 8-foot-diameter pipeline to move surface water from the city's far-east to far-west side. The fees are astonishing, so water bills are unaffordable to many.

Fort Bend Co. Roads & Bridges/FEMA/Ashbritt only gave info about Hurricane Beryl storm debris pickup via FB and Twitter, and then it was incomplete, incorrect, and usually 24 hours out of date. They are too busy bickering to fix real issues, and don't want to hear from the residents they serve.
