CVS website HAS NOT YET been updated from yesterday, when it wasn't offering shots at all in the 13 states where it's now requiring rx. So you'll still get a "not available" error if you try to book in those states. But CVS says they're in process of updating site. Again, states listed in article

Updates on the pharmacy vaccine situation today: CVS is now requiring a prescription in 13 states and not offering shots at all in three others; Walgreens appears to be requiring prescriptions in 16 states, but not all the same ones as CVS. The lists of states are in the article. Gift link:

This has to do with state laws that β in some states β explicitly forbid pharmacists to administer vaccines that haven't been recommended by the CDC's vaccine advisory panel. Legal experts said the liability concerns are real, given the government's actions/inaction.

To wrap up what Iβm saying is that kids do well with predictable structure. A clearly laid out room, predictable routine in class, whole class invested in teacher & student expectations. If they know what to expect & you donβt feed the derailers, thatβs like 75% of classroom management right there.

In an elementary setting, classroom teachers & specialists have to be on the same team. That has to be made clear. Mutual respect regarding time (drop-off/pick-up) and working through concerns as a group is paramount.

I do not complain to the homeroom teacher about misbehaving students in my classes. I handle anything that comes up and I only relay information that may affect how the rest of the day goes, or if they ask. It shouldnβt be on the homeroom teacher only to fix behavior issues.

As a classroom teacher I struggle with this. I canβt really do anything to make sure my kiddos are doing well in specials but I also have them more than any other teacher so I feel some responsibility. I do try to suggest things that I have found work with any group of students.

I remember hearing how different my 6th graders were for me vs another T & it was always negative. Like "why are they so bad for me?" But it was a hypothetical. The other T didn't really want to evaluate how he might need to change, just complain. I think that's just the mentality for some ppl.

I had a similar experience years ago, with a class with some very challenging behaviors.Transitions can be difficult for K students anyway, so I get that it was hard. But I agree that it's not the teacher's job to fix problems that happen when they're not there. Advise, maybe, and reinforce...

I get that it's hard as a T to not take it kinda personal as a "failure" that you aren't solving everything all the time. I wish there was more consistent emphasis on "you aren't going to get it right 100%, you have to grow your skills & collaborate w/ others". We ask kids to do it that way π€·π»ββοΈ
