I'm also in the industry, I'm in construction and we've all been out of work since the strikes. They're shipping things overseas since it's so much cheaper to film there. There were bits and pieces of things in the last couple years but now it's dried up completely thanks to the Tariffs.

And I got weirdly emotional. Like, I finally get to eat some home-cooked hamburgers that aren't terrible. And I get to control what I eat when I eat without fear and that's such a privilege.
And I like hamburgers and cheeseburgers from restaurants and fast food places, but home-cooked hamburgers I've avoided because I guess bad memories? But tonight I made hamburger patties for the recipe. and they were SO GOOD. Like, perfect. Juicy and flavorful and not dry and burned.
If you didn't. I remember once asking if we could have something else for dinner when we were having BBQ hamburgers for the third time in a week and he ended up screaming at me, chasing me through the house, and saying I couldn't eat for the next day. So I ate those stupid things.
I hated eating them, because they were so tasteless. Even dressing them up with ketchup or mustard or trying to put cheese on them didn't help. Because they were also big. The size of a grown man's fist. I hated it. And he made it so much so I had to choke them down, because he would get ENRAGED--
I made Moco Loco for dinner and got strangely emotional. My Dad had a thing for barbecued hamburgers, he made them a LOT. Except he would just take ground beer, mash it into the shape of a thick patty, slather it with BBQ sauce, burn it on the grill and call it a day. They were dry and flavorless.
