A British government with a large parliamentary majority is an elected dictatorship. Parliamentary sovereignty and no real constitution mean new legislation can be passed that is not bound by previous legislation, legal precedent or treaty. Starmer could do anything but he's doing this.

Obligatory: I've always supported universal access to dentistry but my goodness after I got an infection following a wisdom tooth removal I *really* support it. I live in chronic pain and it was nothing compared to the pain of that infection.
This kind of reflexive nationalism just doesn't help anyone. While access to NHS dentistry is sadly declining for British people dental care in the UK is still drastically better overall than it is for Americans. And that sucks. Poor people in America, or anywhere, suffering is really bad.
