Layers Deep (the game I am narrative directing!) got an art update. Our art director/animator @mrchambers.bsky.social worked super hard on this and I am so proud of our lil onion glow up 🥹🧅.

My biggest piece of advice is: confidence. Not artificial "I'M THE ABSOLUTE BEST WORKER EVER AT ALL TASKS AND HAVE WON THE WORKER OLYMPICS!", but just comfortable, confidence in you and what you can do.

But not as an "Oh gods, now I'm gonna drop Game X!". Just as a "Hey, whenever I'm not sure what to play right now, THIS'll work! 😃" Sometimes I just fire up random games I don't even actively feel like playing at the time. You'd be surprised how many times *playing* them queues an itch. 🙂
But, just for example, I recently fired up Chasm again, and the last time I played it, I did about 30 minutes at a time, then put it down. Even though I was enjoying it. This time? I played it for about 2 and 1/2 hours straight. It just kinda clicked into place and felt good. -->
I know it works differently for different peeps, but personally, I kinda hafta find that "side itch" that works. I have to feel it out, usually. Rarely, I know exactly what I want to play as my juggle game. But, yeah, when you've got a powerful primary itch, it's hard to find any others to scratch.

The remake has sounds actually tracing their path of bouncing down a hallway to reach you, and behaving differently depending on what they're passing through/bouncing off of, how far they're going, etc. SO COOL!
Yup! The graphical updates are phenomenal, but the game already looked quite good. The most surprising amount of updates were in the sound design. In the OG game, a lot of sounds technically just came at you through walls, etc., from the direction of the source. -->

Oh yeahhh! You just get a slightly lower score for less than 100% extracting. But, that's not a huge loss, really. The samples are where it's at.

So, I'll be cleaning/handling a bunch of yucky kid/pet stuff then suddenly I need to run to the grocery store less than a mile away for something we need pretty much immediately, and I'll wash my hands and say, "be right back!" She jokes I'm ringlessly picking up hussies at the grocery store. 😂
Haha. 😁 I lost about 15-20lbs right after my wife and I got married, so my ring is slightly large now, and is Tungsten, so it can't be resized. So now, whenever I wash my hands, I have to remove it, lest it fly off somewhere (and I just need to anyway, cleaning certain things) -->

Dead Space was the game that got me into horror games. I mean, I'm a pansy, so I still just dabble, but they used to be just a "nope" genre for me. I played the entire trilogy. Very few complaints. ^_^ Haven't played the remake, but I've seen the behind-the-scenes stuff about it. SO AWESOME!
