I know what you mean! I still donât really get too into Beatles solo albums but I have recently gotten into Byrds solo music (beyond FBB which I was already crazy about & CSN which everyone knows & loves). Finding Byrds solo projects & spinoffs has been like discovering a dozen new byrds albums.
R&B def closer to my taste it by R&B they mean older styles too.

Fans do this a lot in kpop too, to distinguish between the so-called "manufactured" idols and the "authentic" performers but some of the songwriting idols could probably benefit from seasoned pros to back them up, and many performers perform others' songs with a lot of artistry
