It’s definitely easier to cut & paste a contract and give it no further thought, on the theory that no one actually reads anythIng anymore. But: lots of lawsuits arise out of imprecise language. And no LLM is going to be able to draft a contract that really represents a “meeting of the minds.”
Yep - I’m just a bog-standard personal injury litigator who’s had to explain a lot of settlement agreements to a lot of laypeople. (honestly great training for helping my daughter with her first apartment lease!)
Yeah, I guess if I were about to draft a contract in an unfamiliar area I might ask a LLM “what are standard terms in a __ contract,” but I’m still going to analyze the whole thing! And probably find a practitioner in that area to chat about with it! How else am I going to explain it to the client?

Jesus. Neither going to law school nor practicing law is reliant on memorization. The biggest difference for me between a science undergrad degree and law school was that memorizing was of *no help* when Prof Lazerow was asking me *why* the Rule Against Perpetuities still exists.
