It's insane but true. They really are ready to sacrifice their own lives purely to cause suffering for others.

That scenario is specifically forbidden by the Constitution, so why would they jump through all those extra hoops to steal an equally illegal third term? If Trump lives until January 2029, he'll just refuse to leave the White House.

It depends on whether we have to provide documentation of a risk factor. Once something like that is issued by your health care provider, I don't know how you could keep it out of your records.

We also need to make them serve a lengthy probationary period *without firearms* -- that would discourage the ones who'd rather pull a gun than de-escalate.

It's important if you think everyone should have an equal shot at living a healthy life, but Republicans don't think that.

I read the first book and thought, meh, this is just a plot in search of a movie deal. The writing itself was so pedestrian. I'd rather read Susan Cooper or John Bellairs.

Bullies who want to wave guns around. Make cops serve at least two years with exemplary conduct and then pass a rigorous psych eval before they're issued firearms -- that would help weed out the macho control freaks from the people who actually want to help others.

I'm going to bail and hope that other people I follow will repost any actually significant articles from The Atlantic. I don't have the bandwidth for recycled advice columns.

I have a sinking feeling the cult will latch on to anything that lets them go back to mindlessly worshipping Trump.

Most of them *want* to take us back to the 19th century and are perfectly happy to help Trump.
