If you're mattress is old definitely consider replacing the whole thing. While a mates topper may make it more comfortable it won't make up for any sagging or lumpiness.

That's something. My current one is over 300 miles away ๐ fortunately we have a people we can stay with to visit.
Gosh I'm sorry! But it is hard at the beginning. That's normal. Enjoy these last few weeks. Are they going far?
My 5th child is going back for his second year son and I still do the visit once a term thing. Already planned my days! I still miss him when he's gone but it's easier now.
And remember you can come and be sad here and get support! A lot of us understand. Also, it gets easier. Like when you have a new baby you can't imagine it at first but you will get used to it fairly quickly. Plus it makes the holidays more exciting, having them back ๐
Thirdly, plan a visit now. Put aside a weekend about a month after they arrive when you can visit. Or arrange for them to come home for a weekend. I'd ask mine to come back once a term and try and visit once a term. Having a date when you'll next see them helps a lot.
Well first of all, it's fine to be sad. You will be, and you can cry if you want. Secondly, don't forget about phones these days. You can text every day. I told mine that if I texted I wanted a reply even if it was just a thumbs up, so I knew they were OK. 1/

I've got a lab coat!! I inherited it from my grandfather who was a chiropodist. I wear it for painting. My son borrowed it the other week too make cocktails so he looked like a proper scientific mixologist.

Today I went back to the church where I got married. It's a beautiful building, Anglo Saxon with Medieval wall paintings. Despite everything, I still remember my wedding happily. It was a perfect day. That cunt can't take that from me however hard he tries.
