I recently was recommended a book about IFS by my EMDR therapist, regarding some of my high school aged trauma. I haven't delved in much yet, but it resonates with me a lot! The book is "No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with the Internal Family Systems Model" by Richard Schwartz

I really liked it, btw. Already been moving away from phone use, but it was incremental and I kept relapsing back to it frequently. I've done better about getting it away from me lately. Replacing the phone stim with other things has helped a lot for me (fidget toy, book to read for 1 minute, etc)

But trauma doesn't follow those social rules. It haunts, it plays on a loop, it comes in waves. Sometimes we really are over it, and sometimes we drown in it and think "how did I get back here?" And people hear it once, but forget it's our reality at all times, not just the first time they learn it
Honestly, get repetitive. There's a temptation we have to think; "I talked about this once, so--" -It's finished. -People already know. -I'm healed. -I'm over it. -I'm selfish to say it again. -Others remember what I said. -I shouldn't dwell on it.
