I've -never- understood the vitriol for masks. When I worked construction, if I had to work on a sewer line I wore an N95 mask to help protect against any airborne pathogens that might be released in the course of the work. Seems obvious you could use them to do the same thing in other situations.

As of this morning, we only do such things during normal working hours. All OT is cancelled. If there's an emergency after hours, an Admiral within our command has to approve us to come in and eliminate the emergency. Not fix it. Turn off water. Open a breaker. Etc 5/
That in of itself is bad enough. But to add insult to injury is that we found out the same day that my command is broke. I work in Public Works. We do things like make sure the utilities to on-base housing are functional and if they break fix them. 4/
