Nothing about his destruction of medical research in America. It treats him like he and Obama are pursuing the same goal slightly differently

I’m in NJ. This is what I got in Friday morning. I called everywhere. No dice. They’re requiring proof of one of the conditions that allow for the Covid vaccine for ppl 65 and under. I don’t have this. I couldn’t go on our month-long family vacation on Saturday. I tried today, same thing

New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state need to do this!

A vast gulf exists between Trump’s authoritarian aspirations and rightwing propaganda about his omnipotence on the one hand - and the realities of a complex modern state and society on the other. And in that space, politics continues, possibilities to resist and push back very much still exist.
Being lawless does not make Trump omnipotent – nor can he just snap his fingers and make all his authoritarian desires a reality. America is in an acutely dangerous situation. But obscuring those distinctions is an act of defeatism that only serves the regime.

It's useful to think of Trump's political style as a form of "fan service," which is distinct from the "constituent service" we used to associate with the role of elected officials. I took this picture in March of *2022* at a Republican event in Salem, Oregon. That flag seemed bonkers at the time.
