Milk Street did a recipe for focaccia that is most like the focaccia I had in a hill town in Italy in 1985. Bakery only made it on market day to sell in the town square. Best news:itās a very wet, mostly hands off, dough. Start in the morning, bake it for dinner. Have plenty of olive oil to make it.

I hire a live-in dog sitter. She spends the night and is available to be around during the day so they donāt go more than four hours at a stretch cooped up inside. There is almost always someone home, so my dogs are used to going in and out as they choose on my fenced property.
Often the ones that do have pockets are actually too small to hold even a phone.

When I briefly commuted from Long Island, before find an apartment near my job (3 women sharing a one-bedroom, staggered work start times saved us) I could read a novel a day on the ride, which suited me quite well. Public transportation carves out reading time, but I guess people donāt do that now.

It has a number of excellent baking recipes, like sweet potato mango cake and sweet potato bread, but the savories are also. Excellent and so are the beverages. Tipton-Martin intersperses a lit about the history of the food and covers the history of the recipe sources even more in The Jemima Code.
My sister is making a batch of the buttermilk peach ice cream right now because I bought some amazing peaches a few days ago. The island banana bread is on repeat as well. It is an award-winning book that belongs on the shelf of any serious cook. We used it for a Cook Book Book Club lunch. Big hit.
My hobby is cooking (photography used to be my hobby, but I went pro 50 years ago), and I have a library of books to help me along. One if my favorite books is Toni Tipton-Martinās Jubilee: Recipes from Two Centuries of African American Cooking. The buttermilk-peach ice cream recipe is worth great.

I would never want a car in NYC. A parking space costs as much as another bedroom in an apartment, street parking is impossible, and insurance is ridiculous. Public transportation and walking is much more efficient. Taxis if it is raining and you can find one. Lived & visit there happily w/o a car.
The House Oversight Committee is getting a trove of Epstein files today. Post on it! As a survivor of sexual abuse, this is a reminder that it isnt a side distraction. It's a substantive issue with real world victims & its incredibly important to millions. Abuse is so common. We all know victims.

I was 38 when I started law school. My school considered second career students a plus in the diversity they were looking for. We were 20% of my class. Some pharmacists, nurses, a 65-year-old contractor, a couple of musicians, and I had been a photographer/photojournalist for 15 years.
