The bipartisan Restore Trust in Congress Act is a necessary step to ban Members of Congress and their families from engaging in insider trading. It is time to pass this bill and make it clear to the American people that their elected officials put them first.
I bike on those roads all the time and sometimes I see more bikes than cars on them. I live in Eau Claire, which is a reasonably compact city (by American standards) of 75k, you shouldn’t need a car to get around here.

Burn it down and start over. I’m critical of my town, Eau Claire WI, a lot on here, but I love that we have neighborhood schools that kids can walk and bike to.
New Mexico has issued a public health order that removes federal restrictions to COVID-19 vaccine access so that pharmacies in New Mexico can vaccinate people of all ages and risk profiles. Every state need to do this!

Saw an Osprey catch a fish and two Bald Eagles cruising cruising around tonight. Not bad for a 10 mile bike ride. Unfortunately, the city of Eau Claire, WI has annexed and upzoned a good sized chunk of land where those birds like to hang out. Bye, bye, birds hello sprawl. #stupid

I lived in Cheney, Wa for a couple of years, about 15K people and home to Eastern Washington University. You could easily walk or bike everywhere in town and there were express buses with bike racks to get to the much larger city of Spokane about 20 miles away. It was great.

Criminalization as we know it originated primarily from fears of social disorder filtered through race, gender, class, etc.—not the need to prevent physical violence. Most crimes “on the books” have nothing to do w/physical violence. So when ppl want to go *beyond* the books, holy shit be worried.

The number one thing that has increased cycling in my neighborhood was the building of a neighborhood grocery store. Gotta have places to ride to.
I tried to get my city to put up signs reminding drivers to look to the right for pedestrians and cyclists, but failed every time. #EauClaire

Cars need to follow car rules, bikes need to follow bike rules. They’re not the same thing. Cars doing Idaho Stops would be dangerous. Bikes doing Idaho Stops increases their safety.

I biked to the hardware store the other day. It’s a 1 mile round trip and all I needed was a new set of hand pruners.

Here in #EauClaire drivers making a right tend to only look to the left for cars. They blow right passed the pedestrians on the sidewalk to their right. I tried to get the city to work on this a couple of times, but nothing came of it.

I don’t use my trailer very often, but it is super handy to have around.
I live by myself and cook 90% of my food from scratch. Nothing goes bad or gets wasted. The cost is a fraction of what eating out or delivery would cost. I think the issue here is I was taught how to cook, how to understand unit costs, and so on.

Bike shorts are more comfortable than regular shorts and won’t give you (or at least me) chafing issues. For a top I usually wear a close fitting shirt made from a nylon/merino blend. But, do haul out jerseys for longer rides or inclement weather.

Fascinating survey data on the missing Biden voters by Lake Research. The voters who sat out in '24 weren't looking for a centrist or turned off by trans rights. They want a genuine economic populist agenda: take on corporate greed, lower costs, and make the wealthy pay their fair share.
Something not limited to Sean Duffy is how people will get into their cars and think nothing of the risk they face of death or injury, which is several orders of magnitude greater than your risk of being hurt on public transit. Driving a car is the most dangerous thing most people do each day.

I spent 2 years living in a rural small town and did 100% of my in town getting around by 🦶 or 🚲. Now, I live city of about 70K people that’s surrounded by rural areas and have been car free for 8 years.
