Thoughts and prayers to the Docketing Clerk (lcak) who had to docket these orders on his or her day off. Zero overtime and God knows how long the Judge and Clerk I’ve been dealing with this nonsense over the last 48 hours.

Keep it till it dies. We bought a car in 2003 with a 4 year loan. From 2007-2024, zero car payments. In 2024, we purchased a new car. Paid cash for it. You’re able to save if you don’t have car payments for 17 years. We’ll never have a car note again.
Our 2003 Chevy Suburban had 309K miles when we sold it in 2024. We loved that car. Cars just last so long now. It’s great to go years without a car payment.

I could have told you this. During my last 8 years in the federal government, I was in finance and procurement and every dollar was tracked, even down to the penny. Our budget officer worked in conjunction with me and my staff. I always knew how ridiculous this whole thing was.
We went from hoodie weather to a sauna. Might as well be 2 feet of snow outside because I’m not leaving my air conditioning in this heat. Perk of retirement, I suppose.

My former agency was in the same building as Dick Durbin’s office. I rode an elevator w/him not long ago. He’s very sharp. His body seems frail, but why would anyone suggest for him not to finish out a term he was elected to do? A robust primary will be good for the Dem Party as well.

I took some youngins’ from my old agency out to lunch recently. They needed a listening ear & some advice re: work. Wish I’d gotten advice in my 20s/30s. We went to the Monadnock Bistro. Highly recommend if you’re downtown. SWest corner of Dearborn St. & Jackson Boulevard.

For my retirement from fed service, I had a cake party during work hrs (everyone is always catching a train home). I didn’t want an after work bar thing; just a simple get together w/close co-workers. Anyway, sorry to meander. I said no gifts. But I got $225 in Barnes&Noble GCs. So happy! ⬇️💜

I’m sorry. Heard 15yrs after I left the HS that the boys had drilled a hole in between the boys & girls bathroom & they used to watch us go to the restroom in between classes. They said they knew I was 1 of the first girls in the class to have pubic hair. So disgusting when I think about this now.
I could talk about the dress code at my fundamentalist Baptist church & school for hours. LOL
I grew up like that, too! At youth camp, we had to swim with short sleeve T-shirts over our bathing suits. Boys could see our breasts pressed up against a wet T-shirt. Probably less modest than if we just would’ve gone out there with our swimsuits. It’s laughable now that I think about it.
I was raised a fundamental Baptist. It was a strict sect, but women wore pants. If you watch the Duggar show, no women wore jeans, pants, or shorts. Men were always at the forefront of my church too like the show. The youth pastor raped a HS girl. He was fired, but the lead pastor did not call LE.
