and then, beyond that, the power of live music. of being the one who enlivens *this* space. you didn't bring perfection, that stayed in the recording studio. you brought sharing the air, the warmth, with your audience. to share your emotion with these people, in this place.
to a certain extent I think of it as the old adage about poetry, "you learn the rules so that you know how best to break them", how to allow imperfection to highlight how *close* to perfection you reached elsewhere, for example, or any of a hundred other similar ideas.

Rathalos doesn't feel like that because it's a *weird* trial that just gives cosmetic rewards, it feels like it could be removed without a big issue, but the alliance raids, even though most of them are crossovers, actually give combat gear appropriate for the level
oh yeah, the Nier collab isn't going anywhere. Same with the XII/Tactics crossover raids, and the new XI raids they're coming out with right now. All of those are Alliance raids like Crystal Tower, they're worked into the fabric of the game balance in important ways, they're permanent.
