Well it's a tried and true strategy. What you do is wall off part of the jurisdiction and let crime flourish there while harshly cracking down on other parts so the crime doesn't spread. In this case we've agreed to tolerate rampant crime at the White House and Capitol Hill.
DC doesn't need statehood. Give it back to Maryland. The problem is too many empty states each with 2 senators representing no one. Merge the underpopulated states. The West east of the pacific coast and west of the mississippi could be reduced to 6 or 7 states.

I didn’t say that the point of Joyce’s article was an analysis of the election results. She made good case about MAGA’s war on women. My question was about why it was a number of women either didn’t realize that or they didn’t factor that in to their decision. We all assumed more women would.

Of the women I've talked to most, but not all are older. A number of younger women are suddenly getting into "trad wives" and such. The women who broke through this in other countries tended to be conservative traditionalists. Thatcher, Mier, Gandhi, ....

Many of the people who voted for Trump are not his hardcore supporters. They can be turned. Racism is a component of Trump's appeal, but we're finding that the concentration of wealth in fewer and fewer hands - economic injustice - is the root cause of most anger. MLK predicted this.
