A standalone wealth tax has been tried in numerous countries and often abandoned because it collects relatively little money Better to tax wealthy people on specific items/services as Labour is doing

Here, the FT remind us that if you're wealthy, from a certain list of nations & bringing the right kind of culture to a country you are an "expat", while if you're poorer & from another list of nations you remain an "immigrant". on.ft.com/41rkI1n

The right wing media and their rich benefactors are getting worried that she may be the next leader so are trying to discredit her in advance They tried before and managed on their second attempt to get a police investigation of her council tax payments, the allegations were found to be false

VAT on private school fees, IHT on farmers/land owners, increased CGT, bankers bonuses taxed as income not CGT, Non Dom status, changes in Companies house registrations/Land Registry transparency. These aren’t tinkering round the edges. Most tax experts say wealth taxes don’t work.

The Chancellor speaks out against trickle down economics! A view she has long held, if you look at what she has said before. Many somehow like to claim otherwise!

I certainly think it's wrong to raise the salience of the issue as it would be what Farage wants Attack him on workers and renters rights, the economy, Brexit, etc, those are areas he doesn't want to go

Nigel Farage said Andrew Tate is an ā€œimportant voiceā€ for men. Andrew Tate said women should ā€œbear responsibilityā€ for being sexually assaulted. Reform UK has no credibility when it comes to standing up for women and girls.

My grandson (2) and my sister’s 2 great grandsons (1&2) will all benefit from the 30 hours free childcare. Allowing my daughter and great niece to work 3 full days. Both are on minimum wage but the boost to their family incomes is significant. This is the difference with Labour

Also Farage still says he's going to physically detain women and children In effect that would mean tens of thousands of them locked up in prison camps. Besides being ruinously expensive and impractical in the short to medium term, I think the public would bulk at young children being locked up

Precisely, that's what Labour should be doing, not dancing to Farages tune For me that means keep hammering a few points in every interview and article I would chose Increased workers and renters rights Big increases in the minimum wage Big extra investment in the NHS
