Looks like only 2 of the 10 bill of rights will remain unspoiled under DJT and it could go lower. Even the sacrosanct second amendment will likely be selectively applied to protect only his supporters and not his detractors. Who knows how he plans to quarter the troops being deployed to cities.

How does this paste eating clown still have a job?? Elimination of less than desirables;;;;; doesn't get more Nazi than that.

I don't know if it is a German thing, but my German Mennonite ancestors did sugar on tomatoes.

He lost me with the part about praying for some "other" to blame. Tells you all you need to know about where his head and heart are and his willingness to take ownership of problems. Tells me that he and I have vastly different views on prayer.

DJT will claim the best law enforcement action ever. Chicago became a hard target. Unlike Illinois, with Memphis, you get a governor, senators, congressmen, state assembly, AG, et al. clamoring to be the most effusive on how great this went. It will smell like victory in the morning (sans napalm).
Norm (@norm-g.bsky.social) reply parent
Well done. The importance of this program can't be overstated.

I don't think they knew that DJT would be nominated as best actor in a supporting role. They thought that honor would go to Clinton.

We also need to remember that it was the Texas governor who bussed a bunch of undocumented people up here in the first place.
Norm (@norm-g.bsky.social) reply parent
I suppose troops from Texas shouldn't come as a surprise. They would have to come from a state with a complete lunatic for governor willing do whatever his master wanted.

For those not from the Prairie State, our state motto starts with "State Sovereignty". I'm waiting for the outcry from the usually vocal states rights republicans as DJT prepares to invade Illinois. So far just crickets.
Norm (@norm-g.bsky.social) reply parent
And I suppose when it doesn't work, they'll just make shit up on how great it was like they usually do

and remember how innovative treatments from scientific and medical researchers (like the ones being fired and defunded today) saved Donald McRonald from COVID; which would not have been the case had he been given horse medication and household bleach.

Seems to be a competition between Bibi and DJT on who can make their country the most extreme pariah. We're to the point where only Israel has a favorable view of the US; and only the MAGA US has a favorable view of Israel. Not sure who will call the race.

I've long surmised that republicans will never actually solve or improve on problems they want to keep as campaign issue. National debt is the poster child.

One of the reasons that governments need to have scientists and experts on their payroll. (and not a bunch of toadies)

I'm a bit hazy on how we would do this in the US; but more puzzled on why. This seems like a throwback to the early days of industrialization in the US. restofworld.org/2023/foxconn...

If you read the Space X statement, you'll find that it wasn't an explosion. It was a "rapid unscheduled disassembly". Who knew?

So the richest man in the world is taking food, clothes, medicine, water and other necessities away from the poorest in the world; AKA the least of our brethren. I'm having a real hard time reconciling that with the Lord's words in Matthew 25. Those verses must not be in the DJT MAGA version.

When you see deportations via USAF C-17, it means 3 things. First, its a photo op. Second, they are not serious about moving 10M immigrants; not enough capacity. Third, it's freakin expensive. Would be much less to fly first class. So much for government efficiency. www.ndtv.com/world-news/u...

For some years now, the government hosted USA Spending, to provide transparency into federal spending. Can't help but wonder what it will look like in the near future. Here is the current site for those curious. I have a feeling we'll either see it taken down, or cooked books. www.usaspending.gov

I'm intrigued when articles claim toilet paper is US made, not tariff vulnerable. Much/most TP uses a raw material called northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK). Canada is the largest NBSK exporter; guess who the largest world importer is? With Canada tariffs, it will be like the COVID hoarding.

Tariffs are now in effect on goods from China, and imports from Canada and Mexico could be next (again). Americans are likely to see higher prices on a wide variety of products as a result.

Just a reminder of what happened the last time DJT issued tarrifs against China. All the proceeds went to subsidize the American farmers it screwed. www.forbes.com/sites/stuart...

Seems to me that Canada would not be the 51st, it would be 51 through at least 60. Just ponder what that would do to the electoral college.

The story of Frances Oldham Kelsey, who kept thalidomide out of the US, came to mind as I watched the RFK Jr fiasco. This is why we need scientists and doctors in charge at health agencies. The current admin will include nobody with such moral courage and competence. www.fda.gov/about-fda/fd....

Before VP and SECDEF run further down the anti DEI path, they need to talk to those in charge of recruiting. The military barely makes numbers now. If you want an all white-dude force for warrior culture, you'll either need to draft, or (wait for it) lower standards. usafacts.org/articles/mil...
