As uplifting and excellent as the film is, it’s also depressing when you realize that here in the real world a billionaire would NEVER be arrested like Luthor was in the film, no matter what heinous thing they did.

I loved that show when I was a kid, it’s a shame it only got one season. I dressed as him for Halloween when I was 9 and when I told a neighbor I was “Kolchak” they thought I said “Kojak” and they said “Who loves ya, baby?”, which completely confused me because I’d never seen one bit of “Kojak”.

There was a big DC crossover event in 1995 called “Underworld Unleashed” where several members of Flash’s Rogues Gallery get their powers amplified by Neron, a demon from Hell, but I don’t remember Lucifer being mentioned during it.

I bought all the Dick York seasons but I never liked Dick Sargent as Darren, though the episode where Serena sings “I’m Gonna Blow You a Kiss in the Wind” was pretty awesome (and reportedly one of Quentin Tarantino’s favorite TV episodes of all time).
Hopefully New York and the other blue states will do the same thing.

I miss the Pre-Crisis era. I never understood why DC felt it was confusing to readers. I was 8-years-old when I started reading DC comics (back in 1976) and the concepts of Earth-1, Earth-2, the multiverse, etc. never went over my head. I loved the annual JLA/JSA team-ups.

Cash really made you feel for his character at the end. When he tells Columbo how “it’s been weighing on my soul”, he delivers that line with all the pathos of a man burdened by some bad decisions he’s made in his life. It’s like a precursor to the music video he’d do years later for “Hurt”.
